EPT London: Day 1b, Level 8

Blinds: 400-800 (100 ante)

10.10pm: Last break of the day
That's another level over with. After a fifteen minute break players will return for the last level of the night.

10.05pm: Communication break down
Vitaly Lunkin opened for 2,050 from the button. JP Kelly is in the small blind and re-raises to 7,200 total. There follows a long period of silence from the Russian who after several minutes asked Kelly if he would show if he folded. Maybe it was Lunkin's accent but Kelly didn't understand a word and on the third try gave up. Lunkin folded. Kelly didn't show.

9.50pm:Tann not the man
The always popular in these parts, Willie Tann, has been eliminated. His ace-queen failed to improve against an opponent's pocket nines on a 7-8-3-5-2 board.

9.40pm: The sun's not shining in Miami
John Cernuto opened the pot with a raise from the high-jack before facing an all in shove from the big blind. Cernuto thought for a while as he only had his opponent covered by 8,400 but he made the call with [jc][jd] and saw he was racing against [ac][kc]. The board ran out [ad][qh][9h][6h][7s] to send the pot away from Cerunto leaving him very short.

9.35pm: Prizes
As touted earlier, the full payout structure has been announced and it's available on the ... wait for it ... OK, it's on the payout page.

9.30: Feldman felted, nearly
The last time we caught up with Andrew Feldman's progress he was flying with 75,000 but he has now lost most of that and sits with just 6,050. The hand happened just after we restarted after dinner-break but it's worth recounting. There was an under-the-gun limp and Feldman came along for the ride. The two blinds had yet to return so they were heads-up to a T-9-5 flop. Feldman bet 1,500 when it was checked to him and he was called before the turn of Q was checked through to the 2 river. The UTG player checked again then raised Feldman's 4,500 bet up to 12,500, leaving himself with 10,000 back. Feldman put him all in and he made the call with K-J for the nuts. Feldman was unlucky as he had the second nuts with J-8.

9.25pm: Fish silenced
It's not often that Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot is lost for words, but he's going to do very well to join in the conversation on his new table. He's sandwiched between Mikael Lundell and Joel Nordkvist, whö ærè spèåking in Svééédischh to each other and it makes even less sense than Devilfish's unique brand of table-talk. No real fear, Ulliot has close to 100,000 and has each of them covered, at least in chip terms.

9.20pm: Rail adds another former champion
The defending champion Michael Martin is out. By my reckoning (and it's not always infallible) that means the only former EPT London champion still alive in this event is the season one daddy John Shipley. Martin can join Vicky Coren, Joseph Mouwad and Mark Teltscher in conversation about what might have been.
